Bocholt

The club he took over had grown out of an idea fifteen or so young people in Bocholt had in the summer of 1986; a season later they put out a first team, and within three decades the sponsor's name attached to the front of the shirt had changed six times.

Under Lenders, who had been named Handballer of the Year, the club won the Belgian First Division four times and lifted the BENE-League four times as well, cementing Bocholt as the team the rest of Belgian handball had to catch. He stayed until 2022, by which point catching them had become the exception rather than the rule: the Belgian Cup alone has gone to Bocholt eight times.
