«The Bucs»
Two Super Bowl banners hang on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' account. The first arrived in the 2002 season, when a defence built around Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks and Rondé Barber overwhelmed the Oakland Raiders. The second came in 2020, when Tom Brady's first year in Tampa ended with a Super Bowl won on the club's own field at Raymond James Stadium.
Getting to that first title took time. The Buccaneers joined the NFL as an expansion side in 1976 and opened with a winless season, 0–14, before recording their first winning campaign just three years later. Lee Roy Selmon anchored those early sides and became the first player to have his number retired by the club.
Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden, both now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Raymond James Stadium's Ring of Honor now carries names from both eras, including former owner Malcolm Glazer and coach Bruce Arians.
