The Palaboschetto seats 600, a small hall on Via Emilio De Marchi. Ariosto began in October 1978 as a team from the Liceo Classico Ariosto, set up by the school's physical education teacher, Luciana Pareschi, together with Mario Zito and Anna Lolli, before the side grew into a professional society wearing pink and black.

Between 1980 and 1995 the club sent sixteen players through the Italian national team. The closest it came was finishing runner-up in 1982–83 and 1991–92. Svetlana Kitić wore the shirt in 1991–92, a single season on her way to being named IHF World Player of the Year in 2010, while Katia Soglietti was captain.

In 2023, financial strain combined with the country's sport reform forced it to stop operating altogether.
