Halle

Halle (Saale) is not a city with a hockey pedigree to match its size, and for most of the past two decades ice time in the eastern German city has meant one club, playing under the name Saale Bulls since it rose from the wreckage of ESC Saaleteufel Halle in 2004. That predecessor had gone insolvent, and the new club was formed in 2004.

The club's sharpest test came in 2013, when flooding destroyed the Eissporthalle it had called home since 1968. Halle played the following season out of a temporary tent while the Sparkassen-Eisdom was readied, moving into the new rink for 2014/15. A renovation completed in 2025 brought its capacity to 3,300.
