Crimmitschau

Three East German Cup wins, in 1966, 1967 and 1970, remain significant achievements for the club.

The line runs back to a hockey side founded in 1927, though skating in Crimmitschau had started around 1920. It merged with the local tennis club in 1939 to become ETC, then operated under various names during the GDR era, including BSG Motor and BSG Einheit, before the fall of the Berlin Wall allowed a re-founding on 3 May 1990. In 2007, the professional side split off as Eispiraten Crimmitschau GmbH and left the parent association to run youth and amateur hockey.

Manfred Wolf, inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame Germany, is a prominent figure in the club's coaching history.

The Kunsteisstadion im Sahnpark, red, white and black in the stands, holds 5,222.
