Handball Tirol

Handball Tirol had never lifted the Austrian championship, and had lost two straight ÖHB Cup finals, in 2022 and 2024, before Michael Miskovez settled the question with a goal in the final second against Alpla HC Hard. That 2025 Cup win, delivered under coach Christoph Jauernik, was the club's first major trophy. The same year brought the HLA Supercup as well.

Both originals kept their youth and amateur sections running, feeding into the club's Adlerakademie, while the merged first team took the name Handball Tirol and the nickname Die Adler.

In Europe the record has been uneven. A 2021/22 EHF European Cup run built on a walkover past KH Prishtina ended against Anorthosis Famagusta, and a 2025/26 campaign that saw off Dragūnas Klaipėda on aggregate stopped at HCB Karvina in the following round.

Domestically the fixture that matters most is against Bregenz Handball and Alpla HC Hard, grouped together as the Westderby for the short distance between Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Home games are played in front of a ground that holds exactly 1,000.
