Linus Arnesson was fourteen when Djurgården took him from Hanvikens SK, leading him through Örebro and Färjestad in the SHL and on to the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League. The club he left behind in Tyresö has never chased that level; it has simply kept fielding a team, longer than any other in the municipality.
It began in 1944 as Kumlapojkarna and took the Hanvikens Sportklubb name a year later, growing into a multi-sport club with hockey as one of its sections. That section spent four years, from 2012 to 2016, folded into a joint venture with Tyresö HK under the name Tyresö Hanviken Hockey before splitting back into Hanvikens SK.
Mathias Tegnér played for the club as a boy before politics took him elsewhere, and later served as its chairman. Robin Jacobsson went out through Luleå, Brynäs and Leksand in the SHL, while Dennis Santesson built a career in Hockeyettan and Norway's second tier.
The team plays in blue and white at Tyresö Ishall, and across town the Hanviken name still carries into the football rivalry with Tyresö FF. In hockey the nearest challenge comes from Lidingö Vikings.
