Enköping

Enköpings SK grew out of a general sports club in the town, formed in 1914, and the ice hockey side has carried that name ever since, settling into HockeyEttan, the third tier of the Swedish pyramid. The club has never won a national title, and its honours read modestly: first place in Division 1C in 2007/08 and again in 2010/11, then top spot in Allettan Södra in 2011/12. A reach for the Kvalserien followed in 2010. There was a longer stretch, though, when Enköping belonged higher up the table: seventeen straight seasons in Division I, then the second tier, running from 1975 through 1991.

The club has sent players beyond Enköping. Niclas Hävelid went on to play in the NHL and won Olympic gold with Sweden in 2006, a World Championship in 1998; Jonatan Berggren was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings. Andreas Lindquist's number 29 hangs retired at Bahcohallen, alongside Andreaz Persson's 81.
