Torslanda HK currently field their women's team in Division 1 Södra, the third tier.

The club traces back to 1941, when it was founded as Tolereds AIK. Handball split away from the parent multi-sport club in 1996, becoming HK TAIK, and the name changed again in 2001 to Torslanda HK, tying the club to the district of Gothenburg it now represents. For much of the 2010s the women's side played under joint names, first as Hisingen/Torslanda HK and then as Bjurslätt/Torslanda HK, before that arrangement ended in 2020 and the team returned to competing on its own.

No Swedish championship or cup sits in the club's history. Matches against Redbergslids IK are known locally as the Göteborgsderby, and it is Redbergslids, rather than the higher-profile IK Sävehof, that carries the weight of a senior derby for Torslanda's players and supporters.

The player most associated with the club is Nina Dano, who came through at Torslanda before her career took her to IK Sävehof and then to Denmark, with Horsens Håndbold and Odense Håndbold. She made her senior international debut for Sweden in 2020 and went on to play at the Tokyo Olympics that same cycle.
