The merger was more than paperwork: İçelspor took on the older club's navy blue and red colours and its nickname, the Red Devils. Three years later, in August 2022, supporter pressure pushed the club to drop the "İçel" name altogether and rename itself Yeni Mersin İdmanyurdu, restoring the city's name to the badge.
The name changes did not slow the club down on the pitch. It won the Bölgesel Amatör Lig in 2019–20, then the 3. Lig in 2022–23. Metin Saltık serves as club president.
Home games are played at the Mersin Stadyumu, which holds just over 25,000. The club carries the old Mersin İdman Yurdu's connection to Tanju Kayhan .
