Kenya also uses the Ruaraka Sports Club Ground.
The team split off from the old East Africa side, which had also carried Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia, and took its own place among the International Cricket Council's associate members in 1981.
Steve Tikolo carried that era as captain and remains the side's leading run-scorer, the player most associated with the run to 2003.
A normalisation committee took charge in 2021, elections followed, and full membership came back in 2022. The Simbas now play for a return to the level the 2003 side reached, without the ODI status that once came with it.
