Kolin

Kolín is a small town on the Elbe east of Prague, and for most of the year its winter stadium is where things happen when the rest of the town goes quiet. SC Retia Kolín has carried that role since 1932, when it started out as AFK Kolín — the first of eight name changes the club has worn since, and now the Retia badge picked up in 2026.

In 1961/62 Kolín won the 2. liga's Group A outright and went up to the top flight. Nearly six decades later, in 2019/20, they won the Center group of the 2. liga again, and this time went up to the 1. Liga anyway, after the playoffs that season were cancelled outright. It is the closest the club has come to matching its youth system's reputation, which has sent players like Kateřina Mrázová and Jan Košťálek on to represent the national team while Kolín itself stayed in the lower tiers.

The stadium tells its own version of that story. Built in 1955 with room for 14,000, it was roofed in 1979 and shrank along with the crowds it was built for — down to a fraction of that original capacity. Locally the team is known as Kozlové, the Goats, playing in blue and white.

The fixture that still matters most is against HC Poděbrady, a short drive away and close enough that bragging rights outlast whatever division either side happens to be playing in that year.
