Litoměřice

Litoměřice's hockey side has one league title to point to, and it was won as VTJ Dukla, twice over: the Second Czechoslovak National League in 1961 and again in 1963. Four years later, in 2014, the promoted side reached the play-off semi-finals of that division.

The club's continuity is a matter of interpretation rather than paperwork. It began life in 1949 as Radobýl Litoměřice, then passed through VTJ Litoměřice, TJ Rudá Hvězda Litoměřice and TJ ODDM Stadion Litoměřice before the current entity was set up in 2007, after buying a licence from HC Teplice to enter the 2. Liga. HC Stadion regards itself as the continuation of that whole line, back to 1949.

Home games are played at the Kalich aréna, and the club's nickname, Kališníci — the Chalice Men — comes straight from the arena's name and its sponsor rather than from any local legend.

Among those who came through the club, goaltender Milan Hnilička went on to Olympic gold and a world title; defenceman Martin Škoula built an NHL career after starting out here.

The Kalich aréna holds 1,750.
