Lyss

Getting past a Swiss Cup semi-final counts for something in the amateur ranks, and SC Lyss managed it in the 2022/2023 season, but the club's real high-water mark came earlier. In 1992 the men's team reached the Nationalliga B final and lost it, then dropped straight back out of the division the following year. Lyss won the 1. Liga (East) championship in 1996 and returned to the second tier. In 2019, the club won another title and moved up into the MySports League.

The team plays out of the Seelandhalle, in front of up to 2,500 people, in blue and white. There was a women's side too, once — it split off in 1996 as the independent DHC Lyss, taking three Swiss championship wins with it. The men's department has kept the SC Lyss name since 1964 and never bothered with a nickname.

Michel Riesen went through the Lyss system before he made it to the Nationalliga A, one of several players the club can point to who moved on to the top flight; Marc Werlen and Andreas Heiniger followed similar paths.
