N-Lubbecke

The parent gymnastics society TuS Nettelstedt formed in Lübbecke in 1912, and it was out of that broader sporting body that the handball section grew after the Second World War, rebuilding itself in 1945 into what became TuS N-Lübbecke. The team, still widely known by its old name TuS Nettelstedt-Lübbecke, plays in black and red, and its supporters go by the Red Devils.

The club's high point came early. In 1981 it won the DHB-Pokal and, that same year, the EHF Cup Winners' Cup. A second European run followed later in the decade, with back-to-back Euro-City-Cup titles in 1997 and 1998. Between those peaks and since, the club has made a habit of winning its way back up through German handball's second tier, taking the 2. Handball-Bundesliga championship five times, most recently in 2017.

More recently it was Jo Gerrit Genz who wore the captain's armband, leading the side through the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons before his departure in 2026.
