That happened in 1974, and the team now plays under the abbreviation NDH.

NDH sat in the Jyllandsserien, the regional tiers well below the national divisions. The project was rebuilt from there under head coach Nicolaj Danefeld, who arrived in the summer of 2024 after coaching youth sides at Viborg HK. NDH had just won the 2. Division Northern group in sovereign fashion, a result that carried the club into the 1. Division, the second tier of Danish men's handball, for 2024–2025.

The team splits its home fixtures between Sparekassen Danmark Hallen in Glesborg and the Djurslands Bank Arena in Grenaa, playing in white at home and blue away. Anders Gade runs the attack as playmaker; his brother Simon Gade once kept goal for the club. There is no cup or league title on record, no fixture against Grenaa Håndbold has hardened into a rivalry, and the story so far is still the one that started with a hall built in a village.
