Sydhavsoerne

Sydhavsoerne sit in the 1. Division, the second tier of Danish men's handball. Twice it has come close: second place in the 2020/2021 season and again in 2022/2023 put the club into the promotion playoff for Herreligaen, the top flight. Both times the decisive matches never happened — a dispute over player eligibility involving the opponent, Skive fH, saw the ties cancelled, and Sydhavsoerne stayed where it was.

The club plays out of Maribo-hallerne, a hall holding 1,400. No major honours sit in the cabinet, and the club has never carried a nickname beyond its own name — it is known simply as what it is.

Klavs Bruun Jørgensen took over as head coach in 2023 and was dismissed in March 2025. Further back, Jakob Green Jensen arrived in 2015 as a transfer from Team Tvis Holstebro, part of a squad that also included the Faroese international Pætur Mikkjalsson, who played for the club while training to become a financial economist.
