Portugal Women

The women's side share little history with anyone yet; the closest thing to a rivalry runs through Norway, the country they faced in their opening series, and through Spain, Belgium and the Czech Republic, the sides they now meet regularly on the European associate circuit.

Portugal Women played their first Women's Twenty20 International in April 2025, against Norway, and won it — the federation's first win at any level of international cricket. The match was played at the Santarem Cricket Ground, sometimes listed under its older name, the Gucherre Cricket Ground, in Gucherre near Santarém.

Kiona Sequeira was named Player of the Match in that debut fixture. Gabriella Sequeira carried the bat through the series, finishing with 122 runs, while Sarah Foo-Ryland, the wicket-keeper who captains the side, took the same honour in the third match against Norway.

The team sits under the Portuguese Cricket Federation as an ICC associate member, and by September 2026 had gone on to play the Czech Republic Women's T20I Tri-Series, meeting the hosts and Belgium.
