Rudar Labin Women

ŽRK Rudar Labin made its mark on the Yugoslav Second League twice, in 1976/77 and again in 1981/82, both times earning promotion to the top flight. The following season the club held its own there, finishing seventh, the best league placing it has managed. A run to the Croatian Cup final came earlier still, in 1974, back when the competition still ran under Yugoslav rules.

The club grew out of the mining town of Labin in 1954, and the nickname "Labudice" — Little Swans — dates to the 1970s, given for the grace the team showed on court; some around the club preferred "Lavice", Little Lions, for the fight in them instead. Adriana Prosenjak came out of that dressing room, went on to captain Croatia's national side as its first-ever captain, and took gold with them at the 1993 Mediterranean Games.

Since independence, the top prize has stayed out of reach. The club has not won the First Croatian Women's Handball League or the Croatian Cup in the post-Yugoslav era. The most recent push came in 2022/23, when the senior team went unbeaten through all 22 matches of the Second League West and went up to the top division, where it stayed for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, beating ŽRK Zamet along the way. They play out of SC Franko Mileta, in front of 900 in the main hall.
