Sporting Escaldes

Twelve goals to nil, at home, against a club from the same town — that is how the second life of Sporting Escaldes ended, in 2019. The side had come back a year earlier only after folding in 2008 for finishing second from bottom; this time it finished bottom outright, with three points, and shut down again. It sat idle until 2025, when Vincent Maduro, a French YouTuber known online as Vinsky, put up a fundraising campaign that collected €50,000 and relaunched the club under his Vinsky Football Group, with a stated aim of reaching European competition.

Escaldes went straight back up from the Segona Divisió, helped by the administrative relegation of Santa Coloma, and will play the 2026–27 season in the Primera Divisió. Didac Plau took over as head coach for the promotion campaign; an earlier generation of the club was shaped by Isidre Codina, who left Escaldes to take charge of the Andorra national team.

None of this has come with silverware. The club's high-water mark in the league remains a fifth-place finish in 1997–98, and its best run in the Copa Constitució stopped at the quarter-finals in 2001–02. Games are played at the Camp d'Esports d'Ordino, a ground that holds 500.

Escaldes-Engordany has two clubs of note, and it is Atlètic Club d'Escaldes that inflicted the 12–0 and gives Sporting its sharpest local point of reference, even if the town's derby name is more commonly attached to the fixture between Atlètic and Inter Club d'Escaldes.
