Eiswelt Stuttgart holds three thousand people.
The line back to 1969 runs through a small piece of internal history: Stuttgart already had an ice hockey scene by then, organised under the Stuttgarter ERC, and it was members of that club's hockey department who broke away to found what became Stuttgarter Eishockey-Club. The senior side has worn several names since without ever climbing past the regional tiers. As HC Stuttgart, the city reached the final round of the German Championship in the late 1920s and left it without the title. Decades later, playing as EV Stuttgart, the club won the Oberliga championship in 1987 and went up to the 2. Bundesliga. As the Stuttgart Wizards, it took the Baden-Württemberg League in 2001 but stayed put anyway, blocked from promotion by the direct comparison rule; two years later a promotion round finally sent the team up to the Oberliga.
The two sides meet as the Baden-Württemberg Derby.
