Lindau

The Bavarian championship in 2015 came down to a single game, and Lindau won it: a 4:3 final over Höchstadter EC that carried the Islanders up into the Oberliga. Two runner-up finishes in the Bavarian Ice Sport Association playoffs, in 2017 and 2018, sit alongside it, close but not quite matching what 2015 delivered.

Before that, the club's honours came from below the state's top flight: the Baden-Württemberg League in 1989, the Landesliga Baden-Württemberg in 1986, and the Bavarian Landesliga twice, in 1997 and 2009 — the same year the nickname "Islanders" was adopted.

That position on the lake shapes the club more directly than most: the BPM-Arena, where Lindau plays, is an open-air rink built right on the water, holding around 1,250 people, only 150 of them seated.

Andreas Farny has captained the side since 2016 and stands as its all-time leading scorer. Michael Baindl, once a player himself, now coaches the team and has signed on through 2027. Games against ECDC Memmingen Indians and ERC Sonthofen carry the weight of the Allgäu-Bodensee derby.

The club took shape in December 1976, on the shore where it still plays.
