The Minatori Sports Hall holds 4,500, a figure the club only reached after renovation work finished in the 2013–14 season. Trepça grew out of the local mining enterprise, which founded the club in 1947 as part of a wider multi-sport society. The nickname "The Miners" has stuck ever since.

Trepça reached the quarterfinals of the Yugoslav Basketball Cup twice, in 1982–83 and 1988–89, before Kosovo's independence gave the club a domestic league. Since then it has taken seven Superleague titles, the most recent three coming in an unbroken run from 2023–24 to 2025–26, alongside nine Kosovo Cups. The 2023–24 season also brought the Liga Unike, the club's first regional trophy.

The recent stretch carries the name of Adis Bećiragić. In 2024–25, Trepça beat Keravnos to become the first Kosovan side to get past the qualifying round of the FIBA Champions League.
