Paulina Stapurewicz came through the youth ranks at Truso before moving on to Start Elbląg and then DAC Dunajská Streda, and Poland called her up at youth level along the way.
What Truso does well is produce juniors who win things. The 2010 junior side took the Polish Junior Championship outright, beating Ruch Chorzów 26:25 in the final, and reached the same final twice more without going all the way — losing to KSS Kielce in 2009 and to Suzuki Korona Handball Kielce in 2024. That production line has started feeding the senior team as well: in 2023/2024 Truso finished second in the second-tier league, enough for promotion into the First League for the following season.
Across town sits Start Elbląg, and the connection is more than local pride.
