United States of America

Cricket in the United States goes back to English settlers rather than to any single founder, and the national side traces its organised history to 1844, when it met Canada in New York. Recognition by the sport's governing body followed much later, in 1965, when the team became an ICC associate member.

The record since has been thin on major silverware. The clearest marker came in 2016, when the USA won the ICC World Cricket League Division 4, beating Oman in the final. A year later the team ended a run that had nothing to do with its own history: Canada's 26-year hold on the K.A. Auty Cup, broken in 2017.

Saurabh Netravalkar has done more than most to raise the team's profile, a left-arm pacer who captained the side and built a reputation before USA supporters had much else to point to. Ali Khan went further still, becoming the first American player picked up by the Indian Premier League, a route into the sport's richest domestic competition that no predecessor had managed.

The Stars and Stripes now play their home fixtures at Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas.
