The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 operates as the second tier of the International Cricket Council's qualification pathway. Established in 2019, it replaced the previous World Cricket League system to structure the route for non-full member nations. The competition sits below the Super League and above the Challenge League, serving as a bridge for Associate members to maintain ODI status and compete for World Cup spots.

The current 2023–2027 cycle involves eight teams: Canada, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America. This represents an expansion from the inaugural season, which featured seven teams and ran from 2019 to 2023. The format for the current cycle has shifted to a triple round-robin structure. Each team plays every other side three times, resulting in a higher volume of matches compared to the triangular series used in the first cycle.

Outcomes determine the future of the participating nations. In the current cycle, the top four teams qualify directly for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier, which is the final step before the World Cup. The bottom four enter a Qualifier Play-off. The top two from this play-off advance to the Qualifier, while the bottom two are relegated to the Challenge League. However, for the 2027 World Cup, the rules change again. The top two teams in League 2 will qualify directly for the World Cup itself, while teams finishing third to eighth enter the Qualifier.

Scotland won the 2019–2023 edition, finishing atop the points table. Namibia and Scotland were the teams promoted to the 2023 World Cup during that period. The competition is distinct from the Super League, which features full member nations and Associate nations with higher rankings. It functions as a crucial developmental stage for emerging cricketing nations seeking to reach the highest level of the sport.
