Vítkovice U20

Mustang Aréna in Ostrava seats 9,833 for hockey, while younger age groups train at the club's smaller Multifunkční hala. When the junior team does get the main rink, it plays in blue and white, carrying the "Vítky" name down from the club above it.

That senior club traces back to 1928, when SK Moravská Slavia and SK Slovan Ostrava merged into SSK.

The clearest mark the U20 side has left came in two finals seven seasons apart. In 2008–09 it beat HC Sparta Praha 4–1 to win the national junior title, then went one better in 2012–13, seeing off HC Oceláři Třinec 4–2 for a second. Between those two wins, and after them, sat losses in the other direction: a 2011 final against Sparta and a 2014 final against Třinec, both lost.

What the senior team has never done is win a modern Czech Extraliga title — four trips to the final, in 1996–97, 2001–02, 2009–10 and 2010–11, and four defeats. The last outright championship dates back to Czechoslovak days, 1980–81.
