Reto Friedli signed for Wacker Thun as a boy and left it only in 2021, by which point he had made more than 400 appearances in the National League A and helped the club to two championships and four cups.

Those years centred on 2013, when Wacker Thun won its first Swiss League title, and 2018, when it won its second. Jonas Dähler was on the roster for both eras, fourteen seasons in green and white from 2008 to 2023, and left with 1,142 league goals to his name.

Founded in 1961, the club has built its identity in the Swiss Cup as much as the league, lifting the trophy six times between 2002 and 2019.
