It is a multi-purpose hall in Hasselt that has lived through a decade of changing sports fashions without ever changing its name or shedding its identity as a civic venue.

The building belongs to the City of Hasselt, which has maintained it since it opened in 1990, ensuring it remains a steady fixture in the province of Limburg regardless of the league standings.

It became the stage for the Belgian Davis Cup ties, a setting that feels entirely out of place for an indoor sports complex yet suits the intensity of the sport. The 2023 tie against Uzbekistan was a straightforward affair, but the 2025 qualifier against Chile is the one that sticks because Cristian Garin’s injury turned a match into a walkover, a result that left the crowd confused rather than celebrating.

Inside, the atmosphere shifts depending on who is playing. When Limburg United takes the court for the BNXT League or Initia HC Hasselt pushes through a handball campaign, the players are used to the environment. The venue also hosted the BENE-League Final Four tournaments in 2014–15 and 2016–17, events that brought regional teams together without requiring a temporary construction. It is a reliable ground, one that does not demand attention but offers everything required for a competitive game.
