Acreano (Brazil) 2026/27

The Campeonato Acreano serves as the premier football competition within Brazil's state of Acre. Established in 1919, it began as an informal amateur gathering before evolving into a structured professional league in 1989. The tournament sits directly beneath the national Série A-D pyramid, functioning as the highest level of play for clubs in the region.

Rio Branco AC dominates the history of the competition, having secured 49 titles. This record places them significantly ahead of their nearest rivals. Juventus follows with 14 championships, while Independência has claimed 13. The league's structure remains relatively compact compared to other Brazilian state competitions. It typically features eight clubs engaging in a single round-robin phase. The top teams then advance to single-leg semifinals and a final match to determine the winner.

Relegation is a key feature of the season. The bottom two finishers are dropped to the Campeonato Acriano Série B. This ensures a competitive balance within the top flight. The competition is geographically concentrated, with most teams based in the capital, Rio Branco. This proximity reduces travel demands and fosters local rivalries.

Santa Cruz Acre Esporte Clube recently made headlines by winning the title in their debut professional season. Founded in 2022, the club achieved immediate success under the current format. The organization of the league has shifted over decades. Initial control rested with clubs like Acreano and Militar. The Liga Acreana de Esportes Terrestres (LAET) assumed responsibility in 1921, followed by the Federação Acriana de Desportos (FAD) in 1947. The Federação de Futebol do Estado do Acre (FFAC) currently oversees operations.

The competition maintains a distinct identity through its simplified schedule. Without return legs or extended playoff series, the focus remains on consistent performance during the regular phase. The official website for the league is hosted at https://www.ffac.com.br/.
