Eredivisie Women (Netherlands) 2026/27

The Vrouwen Eredivisie serves as the premier professional women’s football competition in the Netherlands. Established in 2007 by the national football association, the league experienced a hiatus between 2015 and 2016 during the existence of the joint BeNe League before being reintroduced. It operates as a standalone entity governed directly by the KNVB, a structure that distinguishes it from the men’s equivalent, which is managed by the Eredivisie Corporation.

The competition structure relies on a double round-robin format. For the 2025–26 campaign, the league has reduced its size from twelve to ten participants, introducing three relegation places. The champion is decided solely through final league standings, with no playoff system employed. The top two positions secure qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, while the third-place team earns a spot in the UEFA Women’s Europa League.

European access is strictly determined by league position. The winner of the domestic cup does not receive an automatic European berth; if the cup winner has already qualified through the league, that Europa League slot is transferred to the next highest-placed team. Relegation is contingent upon club licensing standards, meaning the bottom-placed side only drops to the Tweede Divisie Vrouwen if the promoted club fails to meet specific criteria.

Historical success is dominated by FC Twente, which holds the record for the most titles, followed by Ajax. The current champions are PSV Eindhoven, who secured the 2025–26 title after defeating rivals Ajax and Feyenoord in the concluding standings. The league has previously operated under sponsored names, including Azerion and Eurojackpot, reflecting commercial partnerships over its history.
