FNL (Czechia) 2026/27

The Czech National Football League operates as the second tier of professional football in the Czech Republic. It sits directly below the top-flight Czech First League and above the regional third tiers, the Bohemian Football League and the Moravian-Silesian Football League. The competition was established in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, replacing the previous second division structure. From its inception until 2018, it carried the designation of the 2. liga before a rebranding aimed at reflecting its national status.

The league currently fields 16 clubs competing in a double round-robin format. Each side plays every opponent twice, resulting in 30 matches per team. This configuration returns to the original founding size after a brief expansion in the 2021–22 season. The table remains unified, distinguishing it from the Slovak 2. Liga, which utilises a split-group format. The current season sees clubs such as Táborsko, Baník Ostrava II, and Dukla Praha contesting the title.

Access to the top flight is secured through specific placement and qualification. The champion earns direct promotion to the Czech First League, provided licensing criteria are met. Second and third-placed teams enter a two-legged promotion playoff against the 14th and 15th placed sides from the First League to determine the second promoted side. Conversely, the bottom two teams face relegation to the third tier, divided geographically between the regional leagues. Champions of those regional competitions fill the vacancies.

Historical success is shared among several entities. MFK Karviná, SK Dynamo České Budějovice, FC Hradec Králové, and FC Dukla Prague have each claimed the title three times. FC Zbrojovka Brno emerged as the champion following the 2025–26 season, securing their second official victory.
