About

The Campeonato Paranaense Segunda Divisão serves as the second tier of professional football in the Brazilian state of Paraná. Organized by the Federação Paranaense de Futebol, the competition sits below the top flight and above the Terceira Divisão. It operates as a primary promotional pathway for smaller, often semi-professional clubs seeking access to the state’s highest level.

The modern continuous iteration of the tournament traces its roots to 1966, following earlier experiments such as a Série B in the inaugural 1915 season. Historically, the most successful clubs are Atlético Clube Paranavaí and Maringá FC, each having claimed four titles. Other notable champions include Iguaçu, Apucarana Sports, PSTC, Paraná Clube, União Bandeirante, Nacional Atlético Clube, and Francisco Beltrão, who have secured two titles each.

For the 2026 campaign, the structure involved ten teams competing in a single round-robin phase. The top eight sides advanced to a knockout stage comprising quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final, all contested over two-legged ties. The bottom two teams faced relegation, while the finalists earned promotion to the first division. In this edition, Paranavaí won the title, defeating Paraná Clube in the decisive final.

The tournament is sometimes referred to as "Segundona" or "Divisão de Acesso." It differs from the Copa Paraná, a knockout cup involving teams from multiple tiers for national qualification. The Segunda Divisão has not featured a major commercial title sponsor in recent years, retaining its traditional structural name.
