Always Ready and Aurora share points in Apertura clash
Always Ready and Aurora played out a 2:2 draw in the Primera División's Apertura round 17 on Thursday evening. The hosts opened a rapid two-goal lead before Aurora fought back to earn a point at home. By then the match had already shifted direction, with a red card changing the balance of play.
E. Triverio struck twice in the opening quarter, finding the net in the seventh minute and again in the eleventh. The visitors looked rattled but managed to pull one back through L. Barboza in the thirty-sixth minute. To be fair, Aurora had been patient in build-up, and Barboza's finish came after sustained pressure.
The match turned in the seventy-second minute when C. D. Medina Rodriguez received a second yellow and was sent off. The dismissal came just three minutes after L. Viviani had equalised for Aurora in the sixty-ninth. And here's the thing — the red card did not kill the game; it opened space for Aurora to press forward.
Both managers made several changes in the second half. Aurora brought on J. Velazquez early in the half, while Always Ready introduced C. Algaranaz and I. Huayhuata at the interval. The visitors added A. Rambal and J. Amoroso in the sixtieth minute, and the hosts responded with R. Ramallo in the sixty-fourth. More substitutions followed, including E. Sanchez and M. Ortiz for Always Ready in the seventy-seventh minute.
Always Ready held 48 per cent possession but managed only three shots on target from seven attempts inside the penalty area. Aurora, with 52 per cent of the ball, registered six shots on target and created more clear-cut opportunities. The hosts recorded four blocked shots and four big chances created, while Aurora managed just one big chance from their attack.
The result keeps Always Ready in second place with 36 points from 17 games, while Aurora remain eighth on 24 points. Both sides had already played 17 matches before this fixture, and the draw means neither side closes the gap on the leaders. The hosts' clean-sheet run came to an end after holding Real Tomayapo and Real Potosi to draws in their previous outings.
