Belenenses booked their place in the next round of the Portuguese Cup with a 2-0 victory over Beira-Mar at the Round of 128 stage on 19 September 2026. E. Barros opened the scoring in the 65th minute, converting a well-worked opportunity that showed patience in the final third. Bruninho doubled the advantage ten minutes later, finishing a move that Beira-Mar's defence simply could not contain. By then the hosts had already surrendered any real hope of turning it around.

Beira-Mar had their chances, though. They missed a penalty in the 33rd minute and finished with 11 shots off target compared to just three on goal. Their 53 per cent possession meant nothing when the visitors cut them open at will. To be fair, they created more attacks — 100 to 80 — but quality over quantity won the day.

Belenenses showed their efficiency with seven shots on target and two goals. They took fewer corners, won fewer throw-ins, but made every attack count. The heat took the sting out of it — Beira-Mar had two yellow cards but no reds, so discipline was not the issue. It was simply execution.

The result means Belenenses move into the Round of 64, while Beira-Mar's recent form — including a 3-3 draw with União Lamas and a 2-1 win against Tondela — will offer little comfort. Things came to a head in this fixture, and the visitors held their nerve when it mattered most.
