Leones 1–0 Bogotá
Leones beat Bogotá 1–0 in the third round of the Clausura in Colombia's Primera B on Wednesday evening. D. Moreno's 78th-minute strike was enough to settle it, and the visitors held on for all three points. The result moves Leones up the table while Bogotá remain in the middle of the pack.
There were no goals until the second half, and then it came quickly. By then, both managers were already making changes — S. Montoya came off for Bogotá at 46 minutes, and Leones brought on N. Segura and O. Segura together at 59. More substitutions followed: M. Palacios for Bogotá at 75, J. C. Moreno Abadia at 80, and C. Rodriguez Cespedes at 87. And here's the thing — the game opened up only when the managers stopped sitting still.
Bogotá controlled the ball, as the numbers show. They held 59 per cent possession and registered 137 attacks compared to Leones' 92. Nine shots hit the Bogotá target, three for the visitors. But they only managed one goal, and that came from a single shot on target. To be fair, Leones were efficient when it mattered.
The visitors had struggled earlier in the season, sitting 15th after 22 games with just four wins. Bogotá, meanwhile, were ninth after 28 matches with eight victories. This result tightens the gap between them — Bogotá sit 15 points clear now. Things came to a head on Wednesday, and the away side found a way through.
