Tigres FC

In January 2016 the club lost its own name. Independiente Santa Fe held the rights to the "Expreso Rojo" brand, and the trademark dispute ended with the side rebranding as Tigres F.C. — a name that had already run through Cartagena, Sincelejo, Fusagasugá and Zipaquirá before settling in Soacha, then Bogotá. Red and white went with the old identity. Grey and pink came in.

The rebranding year was also the only year that has amounted to anything. Under Jhon Jairo Bodmer the club won its semi-final group in the Categoría Primera B playoffs and went up. The promotion final against América de Cali was a separate matter and a bad one: 5–1 on aggregate. Promotion had already been secured by other means. The season in the Primera A that followed, in 2017, lasted exactly that long — one campaign, then straight back down.

The founding, on 20 January 2003, was less a founding than a purchase: the rights to Expreso Palmira, a club three years old, changed hands and became something registered in Cartagena. The third-division title of 2002 belongs to that predecessor.

Home is the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, which holds around 10,000, though matches have also gone to the Estadio Enrique Olaya Herrera, a ground of roughly 2,500.

Edgar Páez, once the club's president, was murdered in 2021.

Against La Equidad the fixture carries a name, the Clásico Joven Bogotano. In the Copa Colombia the furthest the club has been is the round of 16, in 2022, where Independiente Medellín won 2–1 on aggregate. No senior title has been won under the name Tigres, and the second division remains where the club plays.
