Estadio Metropolitano de Techo

The venue began life as a racecourse, not a football ground. Hipódromo de Techo, also called Hipotecho, opened in Bogotá's Kennedy district in 1954, and football arrived on the same site five years later, in 1959. Horses and footballers shared the ground for close to two decades until racing stopped for good in 1978 and the land turned over fully to sport.

Four clubs currently call the ground home: Bogotá FC and Tigres FC from the Primera B, Fortaleza FC from the top flight, and Internacional de Bogotá. La Equidad turns up too, on the occasions its own stadium is out of use.

The afternoon people still bring up is 2015, when Diego Maradona played in the charity fixture Un gol por la paz and scored the winning penalty in a 2-1 result. The goodwill did not survive the final whistle: Maradona shoved and kicked a Citytv assistant, José David Ferrer, for filming him.

Crowd trouble stopped a different match in 2023. La Equidad were hosting Junior when an object thrown from the stands struck assistant referee Elkin Echavarría in the head in the 95th minute, and officials called the game off there. Outside club football, CONMEBOL has also used the pitch for youth competition, including the South American Under-20 Championship.
