La Equidad Women

An insurance co-operative in Bogotá put its name on a football team in December 1982. The women's side arrived much later, on 25 January 2017.

Since then the team has played every campaign through to 2025 without missing one. The furthest it has gone was the semi-final in 2021, where Deportivo Cali ended it; two years later the run stopped in the quarter-finals.

Yessica Rodríguez finished 2023 as the club's leading scorer with eight goals, in a season that ended at that quarter-final stage.

Ownership changed hands in recent years, the club passing to a group fronted by Ryan Reynolds through NX Football USA LLC, and the legal name shifted with it.

Bogotá already had Santa Fe and Millonarios, so La Equidad has never had a derby with any real weight behind it — the club sits third in the city's order, and the closest thing to a rivalry is the Clásico joven bogotano against Tigres Fútbol Club, a fixture between two sides that both grew up in the shadow of the older two.

Home is the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, in the south-west of the city, a ground of around 10,000 that the women's team shares with the men's. Green and white, a capacity that would barely fill a corner of El Campín, and a crowd that knows exactly which of the capital's clubs it follows.
