Fortaleza

Bogotá's oldest football grudge belongs to Millonarios and Santa Fe, and Fortaleza has never been part of it. When El Tiempo covered Los Amix reaching the semi-final quadrangulars, it described them as the ones flying the capital's flag in a competition otherwise dominated by older, better-known names — Fortaleza's own rivalry, if it has one, has yet to be written.

The women's section was registered on 15 July 2016, not in Bogotá itself but in Cota, a Cundinamarca municipality on the city's northern edge, with backing from the departmental government. The men's project it grew out of had been based there since 2010. Fortaleza spent a season getting ready before entering Liga Femenina in 2017.

Home matches are played at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, capacity 10,000, which the men's first team adopted only in 2023. Navy, white and dark crimson make up the club's colours, drawn from the CEIF brand guide that also covers the men's side.

Fortaleza has not won the Colombian women's title; third place in Group A during the 2020 season remains its best finish. What the club has produced are call-ups: Michell Lugo went from that 2020 squad into national-team contention, Ana María Bohórquez was summoned by Colombia in September 2022 while still with Fortaleza, and Reina Torres, capped at youth level, played for the club through the 2025–2026 seasons — the latest names to come out of a regional government's decision, back in a town outside the city Fortaleza now represents, to give Cundinamarca women's football a team of its own.
