Liga Femenina (Colombia) 2026/27

The Liga Femenina stands as the premier women's football competition in Colombia. Unlike many other nations, Colombia lacks a parallel women's cup competition, such as a Copa Colombia Femenina. This makes the league the sole major domestic club contest and the primary route to domestic glory and qualification for the Copa Libertadores Femenina.

The competition operates under the governance of the División Mayor del Fútbol Colombiano (Dimayor). The season format typically spans six months to avoid conflicts with international tournaments. Teams compete in a single round-robin regular season where every side plays each other once. The top eight clubs advance to the Cuadrangulares, a group stage split into two sets of four. Within these groups, teams play home and away matches. The top two sides from each group progress to the semifinals, while the winners of those ties contest a two-legged final to decide the champion.

Promotion and relegation were originally planned alongside the creation of a second tier, the Primera B Femenina. However, this second division has not operated consistently in recent years. The league has experienced periods of instability, including the shortening of the 2021 season and the complete suspension of the professional league for the second half of 2022 due to economic difficulties. These events forced the Colombian Football Federation to organize an amateur tournament instead.

Among the participants are established sides such as Millonarios Women, Junior Women, and Deportivo Cali Women. Deportivo Cali Women and Independiente Santa Fe Women hold the record for most titles, each securing three championships. Deportivo Cali Women are the current reigning champions, having claimed their third title in the 2025 season by defeating Santa Fe. The league's distinctiveness lies in its status as the exclusive top-tier domestic competition, lacking the dual-competition structure found in neighboring countries or major European leagues.
