Junior Women

In February 2023 the women's side of Junior took the field at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez against Deportivo Pasto — a ground built for 46,692 and normally reserved for the men's team. Most of their home games are played at the Estadio Romelio Martínez, which holds 8,600 and fits the crowd rather better; Millonarios came there in 2025, Fortuna in 2022. The team owns neither.

The section exists because the men's club's board voted it into being on 12 December 2017, in the run-up to the Liga Profesional Femenina taking shape. The debut in the top division followed in 2018. Red at home, blue away, the same crest as the men — nothing was invented for the women's team.

The high point came quickly and has not been matched. Junior reached the quarter-finals in 2019 and again in 2020, losing 5-1 on aggregate to Atlético Huila the first time and 5-4 to Independiente Santa Fe the second. Sixth place in 2020 remains the best league finish. No title has followed.

Daniela Montoya captained the side before moving to Atlético Nacional; she captains Colombia too. Carolina Arias, a defender named in Colombia's 2023 World Cup squad, played here that same year.

The rivalries the women inherited are not the men's derbies but the ones the results wrote: Atlético Huila and Independiente Santa Fe, the two sides that ended their only deep runs.
