Uganda's recent form has been impressive, while Botswana have struggled. The visitors won five of their last six matches, including a 250 to 136 demolition of Sierra Leone. Botswana's only win in that run came against Sierra Leone on the 12th, 165 to 142.
By then Uganda had already secured first place with 14 points from seven wins. Botswana sit on 4 points, still a long way off the leaders. The gap between them has grown rather than closed.
And here's the thing — this was not a one-sided affair. Both teams traded blows throughout, and Uganda held on grimly at the end. The margin of six runs tells you it was closer than the final position suggests.
