Gambusinos beat Santos 89:77 in the ЛНБП on Tuesday night, adding another victory to a run that has them climbing away from the bottom half of the table. The home side controlled the tempo from the opening tip, and by the time the second quarter finished they had built a cushion the visitors could not close. Santos pushed in the third period but the deficit was already too large to overcome.
And here's the thing about basketball — momentum shifts fast when a team refuses to go away. Gambusinos turned it on defensively in the final twenty minutes, switching assignments and forcing Santos into contested jumpers. The home crowd felt the pressure build with every made basket, and the visitors gradually stopped trying to answer.
We had called for the hosts before kick-off at 53 per cent confidence, and the game played out in much the same way. Gambusinos' defence got in behind Santos' ball movement, and the visitors' best players found themselves man-marked without space to operate. To be fair, Santos showed character in the third quarter, but the foundation had been laid too early.

Eight points separate the two sides in the table, and the gap will widen if the visitors cannot find their shooting touch against a defence that stayed compact when it mattered.
