Karhu and Bisons Loimaa met in the Korisliiga on Tuesday evening, and the visitors claimed a 73-72 win over the league leaders. The result keeps Karhu at the summit of the table while handing Bisons a rare away point. And here's the thing, you wouldn't have expected much from the visitors given their recent run.

Bisons arrived with five losses in their last five outings, including a 71-86 defeat to Kataja on Saturday. They had beaten Pirintö Tampere 74-68 back in September, but that was their only win in half a dozen games. Karhu, meanwhile, had lost their last two before this one, falling to Kotka 78-84 on Wednesday.

The home side still sits top after 22 games with 17 wins and five defeats. Bisons occupy 10th place with nine wins and 13 losses. The gap between them remains wide, but this result will have lifted spirits in the away dressing room. To be fair, the visitors have nothing to lose in these games.

What matters now is the momentum shift. Karhu needed to respond after back-to-back losses, and they certainly didn't manage it. Bisons have moved a step closer to safety, even if the table still looks daunting ahead of them. By then, they'll want to build on this rather than rest on it.
