Uganda beat Kenya 197 to 150 in the Africa ILT20 Cup on Thursday, 18 September 2026. The away side finished with four more runs than the hosts had managed, and the result moved Uganda clear at the top of the standings.
Both teams arrived with identical records. Each had played eight games, won seven, lost once, and sat on 14 points. Kenya's solitary defeat had come earlier in the tournament, and this was their first loss at home in the competition.
The visitors had not travelled to make up the numbers. Uganda were coming off a five-match winning streak that included tight wins against Rwanda and Sierra Leone, and a comfortable run-rate against Botswana. Kenya had also won five straight, most recently posting 216 in their match with Botswana.
There was already history between the two sides. Kenya had edged Uganda 193 to 189 on 12 September, a match the Kenyans remembered for holding their nerve in the final overs. This time the momentum had shifted, and Uganda did not let the hosts back into the contest.
The result changed the table dynamics. Uganda moved into first place on their own, while Kenya dropped to second. The gap in points remained level at 14 for both sides, but the head-to-head now favoured the visitors.
