Horní Ředice saw off Kolín 3-0 in the 1-128th round of the Cup on Friday evening. The away side took control early and never looked back, moving through to the next stage of the competition with three goals from three different scorers.
J. Vondrous opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 30th minute. By then Kolín had already surrendered their composure, and the visitors made no mistake from the spot. D. Teply doubled the lead just before the break with a goal in the 43rd minute, and M. Kijonka put the result beyond doubt with a third in the 73rd.
The statistics tell a familiar story. Kolín registered 104 attacks compared to 103 for Horní Ředice, but shots on target told the real tale — zero for the hosts against four for the visitors. Possession sat at 40 per cent for Kolín, yet they managed no shots on target all evening.
It was a clean sweep for Horní Ředice. They earned five corners to Kolín's two, and their four shots on target were converted into three goals. The visitors also committed fewer offsides — three compared to Kolín's zero — and won more free-kicks, 11 to 19 in Kolín's favour, though the numbers don't add up to much when shots miss the target entirely.
The result echoes a previous meeting between these two sides. Horní Ředice won 1-0 at Kolín back in February, and this time they were even more decisive. Kolín's recent form has been mixed — a 4-2 win over Chrudim II last month, a 1-1 draw with Poltava, and a heavy 0-3 defeat to Bohemians 1905 II in February — but this Cup exit cuts deep.
Horní Ředice now advance in the Cup competition. They had two draws and two wins in their last five matches before this one, including that earlier victory over Kolín. The hosts, meanwhile, have nothing to show for their 104 attacks and 40 per cent possession — three goals conceded and another Cup dream ended.
