Městský stadion

Benešov's ground carries the name of the castle above the town rather than the club that plays there: Stadion U Konopiště, after the Konopiště chateau a couple of kilometres to the south-west, once the residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. SK Benešov has never risen far enough to fill it — the club has spent its history in the lower tiers of Czech football, well below the crowds a ground of this size was built to hold.

Capacity stands at 8,000, a figure well out of proportion to a Central Bohemian town of Benešov's size and to the crowds SK Benešov actually draws. Grounds of that scale in the region typically date to a period when regional clubs were built with ambitions, or expectations, that later seasons didn't match, leaving the stands mostly empty on an ordinary league weekend. The pitch is natural grass, kept to the standard expected of a fixed, permanent ground rather than a makeshift one.

What the record does not settle is when the stadium first opened — the town has had football grounds under similar names before, and nothing ties a firm date to this one with certainty. What's clear is the mismatch between the ground's size and the club's level, which tells its own story about what Benešov once expected of its football, whatever came after.
