Benátky nad Jizerou

The Městský stadion, also known as the Letní stadion, is where SK Benátky nad Jizerou play their home matches, on ulice Letní stadion in the town. It holds 4,000 people, though only 322 of those places are seated.

Local students founded the club in 1920, and for most of the century since, its name changed whenever Czechoslovakia's politics did. After 1948, when sport was folded into state-run organisations, it became DSO Sokol Karbo Benátky nad Jizerou, a body that also absorbed the local rival AFK Benátky. It turned into TJ Spartak Benátky nad Jizerou in 1953, then dropped the Spartak tag for TJ Karbo Benátky nad Jizerou in 1973. The Velvet Revolution let it break from state sport altogether, and in 1993 it re-formed as SK Kopaná Karbo Benátky nad Jizerou — before finally, in 2013, taking back the name its students had chosen in 1920.

Its strongest football came early: the club won the Severočeská župa's I. A třída four times between 1928 and 1941, promotion years that also carried it up into the Divize. Everything since has belonged to regional and district level — an okresní přebor won three years running from 1950 to 1952, then lower-tier regional titles in 1984 and 2004.

Its more recent promotions have carried it further than any of that early history did. A second-place finish in the Přebor Středočeského kraje in 2013/14 sent it up to the Divize. It climbed again into the ČFL in 2015, and once more in 2024. It now plays in the 3. česká fotbalová liga B, the third tier of Czech football.
