Luzern beat Vaduz 2:1 in the Swiss Super League at the Thermoplan Arena on Tuesday evening. Julian Stark opened the scoring after half an hour, and Rúben Dantas Fernandes doubled the lead before Vaduz found a late leveller through Nando Toggenburger. The hosts took all three points, moving to 11 points in sixth place while Vaduz remain at the bottom with three.
Stark struck in the 46th minute to give Luzern the advantage, and Fernandes added a second in the 59th. Vaduz had a goal ruled out by VAR in the 66th minute when Toggenburger's effort was cancelled. They pressed for an equaliser and finally found one in stoppage time, the 91st minute, to set up a tense finale.
Luzern had 43 per cent possession but created six big chances compared to Vaduz's two. The hosts registered eight shots on target from 19 attempts, while the visitors managed four on target from eight. Vaduz had more total attacks — 101 to 88 — but could not convert their dominance into goals.
There were nine substitutions across the final 34 minutes, with both managers turning to fresh legs. Toggenburger booked in the 94th minute after his late goal, while Luzern collected five yellow cards against Vaduz's four. The result keeps Luzern within touching distance of the top half and extends Vaduz's winless run to five matches.
